All Pre-Health students, regardless of major, are advised by a member of the Health Professions Advisory Committee (HPAC). HPAC advisors are available to help students select courses and a major, evaluate their academic progress, and provide counseling regarding study skills and the health professions. Click here to meet the committee.

Students are not assigned a particular advisor. Instead, students can choose from any of our HPAC advisors. We offer drop-in advising (no appointment necessary) most days of the week. Current students can find the schedule here.

Prior to course enrollment, in October and March, all pre-health students are strongly encouraged to meet one-on-one with an advisor (note: first and second-year students will not be allowed to enroll in classes until they have met with an advisor). Students majoring or minoring in areas outside of the sciences are strongly encouraged to meet with an advisor familiar with their major, in addition to an HPAC advisor, before selecting courses.

Before advising begins, current Pre-Health students will receive an email from the Pre-Health Professions office with information about how to sign up for an advising appointment. Students should bring a tentative schedule/list of classes and their Degree Progress Report (or official Degree Plan if they have one) to their advising meeting. See links below for more information about finding classes and creating a degree progress report.
